Taytum Wymer (b. San Francisco, CA, based in Washington D.C.) is a photographer and student at George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he is pursuing a double major in Photojournalism and American Studies. His work comes from the intersection of his studies, exploring dynamics of class and power, specifically looking to struggles over space, consciousness, and daily life. His academic work studies the history of social forces and movements within the United States. Taytum is currently looking to pursue a long-term project representing class and dispossession in post-industrial Washington DC, potentially focusing on tenants struggles, unhoused communities, and DC’s revitalization policies. He has had work published in The Washington Post, Mondoweiss, InsideHigherEd, and Mission Local.Taytum is currently active as a freelance photographer in DC.
